Show bq strike smartphones with the best processor. BQ Strike smartphone review

Today we received another smartphone from a domestic manufacturer for review - the BQ-4072 Strike Mini.

The new mini-novelty is distinguished by its small size, modest characteristics and very low price - only 3 thousand rubles. But let's start in order.

Technical characteristics of BQ Strike Mini

  • Processor: Spreadtrum SC7731C, 4 cores ARM Cortex-A7.
  • GPU: ARM Mali-400 MP1.
  • Screen: 4-inch, TN LCD, 800 x 480 pixels (WVGA).
  • RAM: 1 GB.
  • Built-in memory: 8 GB.
  • Main camera: 5 MP.
  • Front camera: 2 MP.
  • Memory cards: MicroSD support (up to 32 GB).
  • Battery: 1300 mAh.
  • Operating system: Android 7.0 Nougat.
  • SIM card: support two cards.
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, 3G.
  • Dimensions: 126.8 x 66 x 11.5 mm.
  • Weight: 128 g.
  • Price: 2990 rubles.

The smartphone kit is quite modest; in the box you will find the smartphone itself, a battery, a 0.55A power adapter, a 110 cm long micro-USB cable and documentation.

Design and ergonomics

The smartphone is sold in six colors: black, gold, blue, gray, silver and light pink. A neutral version in silver color arrived to us.

The design of the smartphone is not surprising at all. The frames around the display are quite wide, there are three touch buttons at the bottom, and a speaker and a front camera at the top.

On the right side there is a lock button and a volume rocker.

At the top end there is a 3.5 mm audio jack for headphones and a connector for a charger.

On the back of the smartphone in the upper left corner is the main camera, below it is the flash, in the middle of the smartphone is the company logo, and at the very bottom is the model name.

Most of the back cover is made of metal, which minimizes the possibility of scratches and other damage.

Despite its compactness, the smartphone is quite plump, and this is quite strange, given the small battery capacity. Note that this does not interfere with the operation of the device; moreover, due to its compactness, it is convenient to operate it with one hand. It also feels nice and strong in the hand.

Display and picture

The BQ Strike Mini has a 4-inch display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and multi-touch support (yes, this can be called an advantage here). Viewing angles are limited and the brightness margin is low, which makes it extremely inconvenient to work with in bright sunlight.

However, the minimum brightness level allows you to comfortably work with the device in complete darkness, because the screen does not dazzle your eyes. With such a diagonal, the detail is quite good, but if you look closely, the pixels are still visible.

Although the image can hardly be called ideal, for a smartphone costing 3,000 rubles it is quite pleasant. The colors are ordinary, there are no deep blacks, and the TN matrix provides a fairly fast sensor response.

Performance and filling

The new product runs on the Spreadtrum SC7731C platform with 4 Cortex-A7 cores and a clock speed of up to 1.2 GHz. The graphics chipset is Mali-400 MP1. The smartphone has 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory, thanks to which it copes with its basic duties - calls and SMS.

The device's power should be enough to work with applications, a browser, instant messengers, calls and even some games, but this is unlikely to be a comfortable activity.

Let us remind you that the new product only supports 3G networks. The device is equipped with slots for two SIM cards, but there is only one radio module.

Camera and photo

The main camera of the device received a 5 megapixel module with several additional shooting modes and manual settings. There is also an LED flash with which you can take photos at night.

For a smartphone costing 3,000 rubles, these camera characteristics are quite good, but it’s obvious that you shouldn’t expect high-quality photos. In good daylight, you get quite clear photos with good color rendition. If you use artificial light, noise may appear in the photo. It is impossible to take a good quality photo at night - strong noise and pixelation are evident.

The front camera is equipped with a 2 megapixel module and takes weak, blurry pictures in the “watercolor” style.

Interface

The smartphone runs on a pure Android 7.0 Nougat operating system without additional interfaces. This pleases and surprises - the hardware is very budget-friendly, and the system is fresh. On the desktop you can see shortcuts to some affiliate programs and games, including Yandex. About other functions of the Android Nougat operating system.

Autonomy

The smartphone has a rather modest battery capacity - only 1300 mAh. If the device is actively used, it will not last until the evening, so you will have to carry the charger with you.

If you don't use the BQ Strike Mini to its full potential, it will last all day. To definitely increase the operating time of the device, you can turn on the energy-saving mode and reduce the brightness to minimum.

Review of the BQ Strike smartphone. “Inexpensive, but an accurate blow to the market”

Budget brands today have grown significantly and are fighting for consumers very actively. BQ's desire to join this race is justified and the company offers good solutions for reasonable money. First, let's take a look at the characteristics of the Strike model.

The Strike package is quite good: in a thick red cardboard box, in addition to the device itself and the battery, you will find a wall charger, a USB to micro-USB cable, a wired stereo headset, as well as a warranty card and instructions. By default, a protective film is stuck on the device.

Appearance

If from the “face” the new product resembles the usual products of the Android smartphone market, then the sides and back panel are attractive and individual. The structure of the smartphone is as follows: the screen and the entire core of the device are inserted into a body-forming aluminum bath. The solution is not new, but it has proven itself well and the design is strong, and there can be no backlash or gaps (although we noted some creaking when compressed). The marking of the design is moderate: if there can be no fingerprints on the back panel, the front panel, due to the glass and blackening, practically attracts them.

The dimensions of the Strike match the screen: it is medium in size and slightly above average in weight, but you quickly get used to it. The design fits well in the hand due to the smoothed edges of the body.

It should be noted that the device does not slip in the palms, and the corrugated inserts on the top and bottom add charm to the design. As for the colors, our editorial office has a light green modification, and on sale you can also find black, dark gray, gold, red and rose gold (remember, the “bath” is replaceable, but there are no cases on sale for free).

The contents of the case are familiar and we will start with the dominant feature - the front panel. Here, in addition to the display, which will be discussed a little later, there is a block of touch control keys, “return”, “home” and “menu” - at the bottom, as well as a speaker surrounded by the front camera, position/proximity sensors and an operation indicator - at the top.

The left end of the case is devoid of elements, and the right side has a combined volume rocker and a lock key (the movement of both elements is noticeable and expectedly tight - you won’t accidentally press it).

At the bottom end of the Strike there is only a microphone, and the top is given over to a micro-USB connector and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

On the back panel, in addition to the manufacturer’s logo and the model name, we find a horizontal slot for a call speaker and a rear camera lens console with a flash light to the right of it.

To remove the “core” of the smartphone, there is a ledge in the upper part of the case. Lifehack: for ease of manipulation, you can press on the rear camera module - then it will be easier to remove the filling.

Inside there is a battery waiting for us in the corresponding tray, which in turn covers the slots for micro-SIM and mini-SIM. To the left of the cards is the micro-SD compartment.

Screen

The device uses a 5-inch IPS matrix with HD resolution. Overall, the screen is pretty good for a budget solution: it has natural colors and sufficient brightness.

The picture is clear, there is no graininess in either textures or texts, and viewing angles, if not maximum, are generally acceptable.

The sensor is capacitive and supports up to 2 simultaneous touches. If everything is clear with entering text, then there have been mistakes with entering commands (possibly due to the film). When exposed to direct sunlight, the picture fades, but remains readable.

Software and interface

The device runs on Android 6.0 without any additional launchers. It is worth noting that Strike is one of the company’s first devices with “six” out of the box and this is a significant competitive advantage even within the manufacturer’s line.

The lock screen is standard: in addition to the current date and time, it displays received notifications, which, however, can be encrypted or hidden. At the top is the unchanged status bar, and at the bottom, in addition to the “unlock lock,” there are icons available for the phone and camera.

The desktops are familiar in content, although without circular scrolling. Here, in addition to changing the wallpaper, you can place widgets, folders and application shortcuts. The bottom line of screens is reserved for the changeable “dock”, which follows a red thread across all desktops, and the top line is the status bar. Flicking the top curtain down will give you access to received notifications, brightness settings, and shortcuts for launching modules.

The main menu is matrix, 4 x 6, although the bottom row inscriptions do not fit, but there is a search bar at the top.

The settings menu is unvarnished: a vertical lined list of options and a monochrome icon to the left of the inscription.

The Dual-SIM service is implemented quite competently: when installing cards for the first time, the device offers to set defaults, which can later be changed in the settings menu. In addition, you can change the map name and display color, although the event indication itself is very clear.

As for the applications, along with the standard ones, you get the social service of the “Give Life” foundation, an explorer, backup, Yandex services including a browser and hub Apps Press with various services and games that require additional installation.

Hardware and Performance

The hardware of the new product matches the price tag: a quad-core “stone”, a gigabyte of RAM and eight flash memory. In this case, micro-SD cards are present and the smartphone offers to store either multimedia content on them, or mount it as a full-fledged memory for software (although in this case the speed of operation is greatly influenced by the speed of the memory card itself - we would not recommend using slow ones).

Geekbench 3 (Single core/Multi core) 322/1009
AnTuTu Benchmark v6.1.4 24248
3D Mark (Ice Strom Unlimited) 2914
3D Mark (Ice Storm Extreme) 2025
Epic Citadel (High Quality) 43.6 FPS

In 2016, a sufficient number of interesting inexpensive smartphones appeared on the market, which remain relevant to this day. Among them, in particular, is the BQS 5020 strike smartphone. This model is interesting because it has a good camera and screen, a sturdy body, decent performance indicators, and all this at a price of less than 6 thousand rubles. Is this real? We suggest you look into the BQ 5020 strike review.

BQ company usually supplies its smartphones in bright packaging, which clearly shows the main advantages of the product. Here we see that the camera has a resolution of 13 megapixels, a screen with an IPS matrix and the Android 6.0 operating system. The combination, frankly speaking, is impressive for this price category.

The package includes a micro-USB cable, headphones, instructions for use and a warranty card. I would like to immediately remind you that BQ is a Russian manufacturer, so it will be easy to understand the instructions, and it will not be difficult to use warranty rights if necessary.

Design

You can purchase this BQS phone model in several body colors. Classic black looks best or, as an alternative, you can consider gray. The assembly is excellent, there are no creaks or backlashes. The parts are fitted as reliably as possible, so using such a gadget is a pleasure. The phone fits in your hand like a glove and does not cause any discomfort.

In the central part of the back cover, the manufacturer claims the presence of metal inserts. They really exist, and with their help, the rigidity of the structure is increased, and heat dissipation is also optimized.

All external surfaces come with a matte finish, so the phone does not get dirty and does not show greasy traces of fingerprints. Only the screen is relatively easily soiled.

On the right side panel there is a volume rocker, and right there is a power button. All buttons are securely and tightly fixed in the case; when you press them, there is no rattling or unpleasant sound. On the top edge you will find headphone and micro-USB jacks.

The front panel is protected by special glass. Immediately below the screen there are three touch buttons that operate without backlight. Their functionality is quite standard, but can be further configured manually.

Above the screen there is a voice speaker, a front camera module and several sensors. The main camera on the back side is somewhat separated from the total area of the lid. There is an LED flash next to the module. It is important that the camera does not protrude above the surface of the case, so it will not get scratched or dirty.

The back cover can be removed if necessary. There are two compartments for SIM cards (micro and nano), and there is also a slot for a memory card. The battery is removable, so if it fails you don’t have to immediately run for a new phone.

Screen

Screen resolution is 5 inches HD, IPS matrix with excellent color rendition. I'm pleased with the decent detailing and color saturation. The disadvantages include the fact that even at maximum brightness in the sun the image becomes blind. The phone supports two touches at the same time, the sensor works without failures.

Performance

The filling of the BQS strike BQS 5020 Mobile is as follows: the MediaTek MT6580 chip is combined with a Mali400MP2 graphics accelerator. This combination does not provide the maximum, but an acceptable level of performance, suitable for everyday use of the smartphone in mixed mode. You can not only watch videos and read from the screen, but also play various games, albeit with restrictions on maximum settings.

There is very little RAM and internal memory - 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. It is clear that this is not enough for storing data, therefore support for large-capacity memory cards is provided.

Camera

The main camera has a resolution of 13 megapixels and autofocus, and the front module has a resolution of 5 megapixels. Both cameras are comfortable to use through the built-in application, which has creative modes and optional manual settings.

If we draw conclusions about cameras based on experience, we can say that with sufficient lighting they can be used to get good pictures, but as soon as it gets dark, noticeable noise appears.

To better understand the quality of photography of a smartphone, we recommend watching its video review.

Software

On board Android 6.0 without any proprietary settings or skins. There are icons on the desktop that help you quickly install any application. If you don’t want to clog up your memory with them, it’s easy to delete them directly from the main screen. System updates occur over the air.

Autonomy

The battery capacity is not impressive - only 2000 mAh. If you push the phone hard and persistently, it will last a little over 3 hours on a single charge. In mixed mode it will last for about a day of work.

conclusions

The BQ 5020 Strike is an inexpensive and attractive phone with a good screen, solid and time-tested software, and decent cameras. It is not without obvious drawbacks, such as the minimum amount of RAM and built-in memory or a weak battery, but for the money the gadget looks just great.

The inexpensive smartphone segment continues to pleasantly surprise in 2016. Take, for example, the June new BQ Strike BQS-5020, which claims a 13 megapixel camera, an IPS HD screen and a metal body. All this pleasure for Russian users will cost 5,490 rubles. Buyon online store. It is important to note that, unlike offers in Chinese stores, there is no need to wait for delivery, and an official guarantee is provided. Intrigued? So we, too, propose to look into it in detail during the review.

Below is a summary table of available offers in Russian retail, compiled based on data from the Yandex.Market service.

BQ Strike review

Equipment

The BQ Strike BQS-5020 comes in a flamboyant package. The front side shows the main advantages of the smartphone.

The package includes a 0.5A charger, microUSB cable, headphones, instructions and a warranty card.

Appearance

The BQ Strike is available in several color options. We tested classic black, it looks attractive.

The assembly is excellent, all parts fit perfectly together. The lid does not bend under finger pressure.

The metal stated in the specifications is located in the center of the lid. This improves rigidity and makes a positive contribution to passive heat dissipation.

The outer surfaces have a matte finish and do not slip or get dirty. Only the screen gets dirty.

The side edges are slightly convex. It feels good to hold in your hands. All elements are within easy reach.

On the right side of the BQ Strike there is a power button and a volume rocker. The buttons are tightly fixed in the case, do not rattle, and are pressed with little effort.

Both connectors are on the top edge. There is microUSB for charging and a 3.5 mm audio jack for headphones.

The front side is covered with protective glass. There are three non-backlit touch buttons on the bottom frame. On the top frame there is a voice speaker, a front camera and a set of sensors.

The main chamber block is visually separated from the total area of the lid. There is an LED flash next to the lens. It does not protrude above the surface of the case and will not be scratched.

The cover is removable; to access the connectors you will need to apply force to it. There are two SIM compartments available (micro and nano), as well as a slot for a memory card. The battery is also removable.

Screen

BQ Strike has a 5-inch IPS screen with HD resolution. The screen, taking into account the budget, pleased with the detail and uniformity of illumination. The maximum brightness level is acceptable, but the screen still fades under sunlight. Two simultaneous touches are supported, there is no question about the operation of the sensor.

Filling

The heart of BQ Strike is a quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor with Cortex A7 cores operating at 1.3 GHz. Mali400MP2 is responsible for graphics. The level of performance is far from record-breaking, but if we discard this senseless race for the top lines of the benchmark, the smartphone will delight not only with the smooth operation of the interface, but also with games like World of Tanks Blitz and Asphalt 8. Complex projects will require a reduction in graphics quality. On board there is 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory. High-capacity drives are supported.

Antutu

Connection

The capabilities of the telephone module are limited only to 3G frequencies. The connection is stable, no breaks were noticed. There is Bluetooth 4.0 and single-band Wi-Fi.

Battery

The MediaTek MT6580 is powered by a battery with a capacity of 2000 mAh. At maximum load, the charge lasts for 3.5 hours. In a mixed scenario, you can last the entire working day. The result, considering the light weight, is good.

Camera

Main camera with a resolution of 13 megapixels with autofocus. Front 5MP. Uses a traditional app with creative modes and manual settings. During the daytime, the camera takes good pictures. There is noise in poor lighting. The resulting images can be shared without hesitation on social networks.

Software

BQ Strike will please the owner with the latest version of Android 6.0. There are no proprietary shells or add-ons. Icons for installing programs and games are placed on the desktop. If you don't want to clog up your memory, they can be easily removed directly from the main screen.

Over-the-air updates are supported. Bayon application for online shopping with tasty prices for Russian users.

Results for BQ Strike

BQ Strike is a very attractive inexpensive smartphone with a good IPS screen, Android 6.0 installed, high-quality cameras, support for two SIM and memory cards, a quad-core processor and a reinforced body. You can find fault with the battery capacity and the lack of LTE, but on the other hand, all this is conditional, and we must not forget about the final cost, not everyone is ready to overpay. There were no failures or operational problems recorded.
